With PTI leaders claiming to have a massive turnout of people at Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah jalsa, federal and provincial intelligence agencies have released their reports regarding the number of participants at the public gathering, Geo News reported.
Two provincial and federal intelligence agencies reported that about 30,000-35,000 people attended the PTI’s public gathering; while one federal and two provincial agencies have reported a headcount of more than 60,000 people.
Meanwhile, a senior police officer — speaking on the condition of anonymity — said that more than 100,000 people attended the jalsa on Saturday, adding that people were seen walking towards the ground when Imran Khan was addressing the crowd.
Sources affiliated with various political parties revealed that the area on the left of the leaders’ and media stages had space for 22,000-25,000 people.
They added that if the attendees of the jalsa are forcefully accommodated in the space, then not more than 30,000 people can fit there.
Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that Mir Jaffar has been imposed on the country through global conspiracy.
Addressing the rally, former PM and PTI chairman Imran Khan said that a conspiracy was hatched against the country on international level, adding that he was not against any country.
“I want friendly ties with every country but slavery is not acceptable,” he said and added conspiracy was hatched to make Pakistan a slave.
He said that Mir Jaffar has been imposed on the country, adding that it was said that my life is in danger but my life is not as important as the country needs independence.
Giving details of foreign conspiracy, Imran Khan said that the US diplomats started meeting our people 4 months ago, adding that many journalists also met American diplomats and Pakistan’s ambassador to the US was also threatened.
He said it was told that Pakistan will be forgiven, if no-confidence motion succeeded to oust his government. “20 members of my parry sold their conscience for Rs 250 million and said their conscience has awakened, said Imran Khan.
The former PM further said that he was hurt by the verdict of the Supreme Court, adding that, “Our hands have been tied with the decision of the Supreme Court.” He said that the courts had been opened in the midnight and asked what crime he was committing that the courts were opened.
