Appeal by elderly, ailing, and financially distressed pensioners of Radio Pakistan for immediate intervention by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
To
The Prime Minister of Pakistan
Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif
Respected Sir,
With utmost respect, it is submitted that the administration of Radio Pakistan has, without any prior notice and without any justifiable reason, stopped the December pensions of a large number of pensioners. As a result, Radio Pakistan pensioners—among whom are sick and frail elderly individuals, widows, orphaned girls, and children—have been thrown into a state of severe distress, fear, and anxiety.
It is also important to mention that for many years a large number of pensioners have not been paid their commutation amounts, are being deprived of medical allowances, and are not being given the increases announced in the budget. Moreover, the 13 months’ increase announced in previous financial years’ budgets is still outstanding and payable. Due to this situation, Radio Pakistan pensioners are facing severe financial, social, medical, and psychological problems and hardships, and are unable to fulfill their essential social responsibilities and obligations.
Respected Sir,
The Director General of Radio Pakistan, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Sheikh, the Director Finance, Mr. Inam-ul-Haq, and the in-charge of the Pension Management System and IT Department, Mr. Ali Haider, by continuously depriving pensioners of their legitimate rights, are causing them extreme mental anguish and harassment. As a result, many Radio Pakistan pensioners have developed serious ailments such as high blood pressure and diabetes, and due to extreme financial hardship are living a life of utter misery and pitiable conditions.
Respected Sir,
The pensioners of Radio Pakistan humbly request you to kindly intervene immediately and ensure that our legitimate rights are restored, so that we may be relieved from this ongoing torment and anxiety.
We, the pensioners, shall always pray for your good health, well-being, and success.

Discrimination with PBC Pensioners.
(Malik Aslam Awan, Representative, Aalmi Akhbar, Islamabad- Pakistan)
PBC Pensioners have not been paid pension for the month of June so far. On the other side regular employee of PBC from BPS-1 to 20 including top management have been paid salary, house hiring and other emoluments. Medical bills are pending for the last five years.
This is very embarrassing situations with the pensioners. The widow’s and orphans of PBC pensioners are deprived of the situation. Prior to corporization there was no problems of pension/commutation.
Besides the judgement of Wafaqi Mohtasib and also decision endorsed by the President of Pakistan thirty eight pensioners have not been paid commutation even after judgement of WMP. The senior citizen are the capital of the society and deserve for redressal of their grievances. This attitude of the management with pensioners/senior citizen is against the law of land and also against the Islamic tradition.
