I joined Radio Pakistan as Presentation supervisor on. 06/06/1968. Since then I had good , vey good relation with Ustad e Muhtaram Mustafa Ali Hamadani . He was top of the list whom I understand as my Ustad. Brother Afzal ur Rehman and Brother Asad Nazir are also my Ustads. I am highly indebted to both of them.
Due to the nature of my job i had close contact with Hamdani sb. One day while taking about the birth of Pakistan and history of Radio station Lahore, he told me that announcement of Pakistan as independent country was made by him in between the midnight of 13 and 14 August 1947.
Next day on 14th August Quaid e Azam took the oath of Governor General of Pakistan . Oath was administered by Justice Abdur Rashid chief justice of Lahore High court . Later he became the CJ of Pakistan. Oath taking ceremony was also attended by last Viceroy Mount batten .
After the ceremony he flew back to Dehli as next day on 15th August he has to take the oath as first Governor General of India. We have been reading from school , College and University days about the above stated facts.
I am unable to understand why now some misguided people are creating confusion of 15 August. It may be due to the reason that formal transfer of Authority and power was commissioned on the midnight between 14 and 15 August.
