Many Syrians trapped in Aleppo have posted harrowing messages on social media, bidding goodbye to their loved ones. Approximately 100,000 people are in the middle of an onslaught between rebel-held Aleppo and the government, with absolutely no escape door, volunteer search and rescue group White Helmets explained.
The videos and sound clips have terrifying sounds of airplanes and war strikes blasting in the background. Those are the horrifying sounds of Bashar al-Assad regaining control from the “mutineers.”
A local photographer took to Facebook to say that while he waits to get captured, or worse, die, he knows that his death will be in an honourable manner. He slammed the army forces for having no religion, and asked for forgiveness and prayers. The situation is nothing less than doomsday, he concluded.
The battle apparently drew to a close in a deal with rebels to let the evacuees leave safely. However, Reuters reported the process has been delayed as the Syrian Observatory noted no one had left, while buses scheduled to go in the eastern area hadn’t done so, as of 9:15 AM PST.
Executed, tortured, and raped
Reports have suggested that locals are being executed, tortured, and raped, according to Business Insider. A lot of those caged inside Aleppo wondered online as to how the world can sleep peacefully while both sides ravage brutal genocide.
