Translation of Dr. Shams Jilani “Roshni Hira Say”
Virtue of the people of Badr and the conquest of Sawiq
Section: 158
During last section we covered that how Hazrat Umayr Bin Wahab (RA) who
came with intention of murdering Prophet Muhammad (PBUH ) reverted to
Islam. As Safwan bin Umayyah called Umayr to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and
he returned to Islam by the grace of the Almighty and in this way once again
the enemies of Islam did not have to suffer humiliation. Now we are
concluding the events of the Battle of Badr as almost all the essential details
except the names of the participants of Badr have been recorded.
So now let us review the hadiths narrated about the participants of Badr in
Sahih al-Bukhari. It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (RA) bin Malik that he says
that I knew what happened to Hazrat Harith bin Rawaha (RA) in the Battle of
Badr. But I saw that when his mother arrived in Medina. Then she asked, O
Messenger of Allah, what is the status of my son after his killing in battle of
Badr? If you tell me, I will be relieved! If he is in heaven, may he rest in peace. I
would like give my readers a recall that he was among those elders who were
martyred by the powerful arrows on the moment when he was drinking the
water from the pool. After hearing this from the mother of Hazrat Harith (RA),
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Alas, you do not know what the value and
dignity of the martyrs was, listen to you." Your son is not present in the
paradise but at the highest place in Firdaus.” Waqidi further added that at that
time the Holy Prophet ﷺ, by addressing the name of the Harith (RA) & said,
ان ابنک ا ب فردو س الا على
Your son has reached to the highest level in Paradise. Its proved that only
participation in the Battle of Badr in the state of faith was more than enough.
there was no condition to be martyred while fighting. From this, it can be
speculated on his rank that he not only participated in the Battle of Badr, but
also gave great courage and was martyred. Despite this, he was facing a big
enemy and a big army, but he did not take it into account and did not care
about his life. In this regard, Imam Ahmad has also narrated a hadith in which
he has added the peace of Hudaybiyyah. Its narrator is Abu DaUd, who
narrated it from Ahmad bin Sinan, and he narrated it from Musa bin Musa.
From Isma'il and he and the last mentioned two narrates on the authority of
Hazrat Yazid bin Harun (RA) that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that whoever
participated as a believer in the peace of Hudaybiyah and the Battle of Badr
will be in Paradise. Apart from this, there is another hadith which shows that
any mistake of the participants of the battle of Badr was forgiven whether it
was the before the battle or at the time of the battle.
