Translation of Dr. Shams Jilani “Roshni Hira Say”
Ghazwa Fara (The battle of Fara) and the wickedness of Bani Qaynuqa
Section 165
During the last section, we were talking about Abdullah Ibn Salul who was
confronting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) & during this conversation, the
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) got angry when he put the hands in the pocket of
his armor. He (PBUH) instructed him to take his hand out. But he did not take
out his hand, so Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said again and more harshly,
"Wa Nahik Arslani (May it be bad for you), leave me." He said, I will not leave
you till the moment; you will make a promise with me regarding the safety of
my people.
These are four hundred unarmored and three hundred armored. Those who
have protected me, will you block them? By Allah! I am afraid of the problems
of age. Meanwhile, the verse was revealed in which it was forbidden to make a
Christian & Jews saint.
Translation (O people, do not make a Jew and a Christian a saint, some of
them, some of them are friends, and whoever makes them a saint among you
will be counted among them). (Undoubtedly, Allah Almighty does not guide
the people. You will see for yourself that there is a disease in their hearts,
hatred and malice on the part of the Muslims. After that, the second ally of the
Jews, Ubadah (R.A.) Ibn Al-Samat, who was from Bani Awf. and there was an
agreement with the Jews in the same way as it was with Abdullah bin Abi
Salul, stood up and declared that they were not allies of Bani Qaniqa and
asked the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), O Messenger of Allah, I love the
Messenger (PBUH) and the believers, and I declare disgust with these infidels
and their friendship. After that, a couple of verses were revealed, which were
in response to the fear of Abdullah bin Abi Sulul, in which he talked about
fearing the calamities of the age instead of fearing Allah.
(Translation) (They hasten, and say that we are afraid lest calamities
surround us, soon they will see and be of the disbelievers when Allah gives
them (the Muslims) victory or theirs). If he gives honor to someone else, then
it will happen to those who have hidden the matter in their hearts. And the
believers will say that these are the people who swore by Allah with all their
might. After that, Allah Ta'ala described His servants with these verses
(Translation): Your friends are only Allah and His Messenger and those who
believe, who establish prayer and bow down and give Zakat. Then the next
verse is for people like Hazrat Ubada (I) bin Samit, translation: And those who
turn to Allah's Messenger and are also believers and keep friendship with him,
then it is better for them because only the people who believe in the Almighty
Allah & his messenger will dominate.
