Translation of Dr. Shams Jilani “Roshni Hira Say”
Section 187
Bani Asad's campaign, marriage of Prophet to Umm Salma and incident
of Raji
During last section we discussed that how Hazrat Asim (RA) was martyred by
the tribes of Hazilis. And his body was miraculously washed in the flooding
rainwater of the valley. Hazrat Asim (R.A.) had prayed that "O Allah, let me not
touch any disbeliever, nor let them touch my body, so Allah kept him safe."
When this news reached Madinah that such a case was taking place, Hazrat
Umar (R.A.) said that Allah protects the covenant of the believer. Therefore,
even after the death of Hazrat Asim (RA), Allah Ta'ala kept his promise. After
tying the remaining three Companions with ropes, they left with the intention
of selling them into the hands of Quraysh in Makkah, but finding an
opportunity on the way, Hazrat Ibn Tariq (RA) freed his hands and took the
sword from one of them. He was prepared to fight, but the infidels who were
on watch from above stoned them and martyred them. Now the remaining
two men were left, whose names were Jabib and Ibn Dashna (R.A.), whom
they killed. They sold both of them in the hands of Quraish and they decided to
kill him in their revenge. Further, Ibn Ishaq (R.A.) writes that Hazrat Ibn
Dashna (R.A.) was bought by Safwan Bin Umayyah to kill him in exchange for
his father, so he was taken outside the limits of the Haram. Before doing so,
Abu Sufyan asked, "O Ibn Dashna (R.A.), would you like Muhammad (S.A.) to
be in your place at that time and that he should be killed?" So, he replied that I
will not tolerate even a thorn pricking him (PBUH) in my presence. On this,
Abu Sufyan said, "I have not seen such sacrifices as Muhammad's (PBUH)" and
after that he ordered to be killed. Because the disbelievers now get despaired
of the possibility of his being coming back towards their side.
He saw him as belonging to Muhammad (PBUH) and then ordered to kill him.
Because the infidels were now in despair at the prospect of him bringing back
to apostasy. After that it was the turn of Hazrat Khabib (RA) and he was asked
his last wish. So he said, "I want to pray two rak'ahs if you allow me."
Therefore, they said, "Read it." He prayed, greeted, and said, "By Allah, if I had
not been afraid of death, I would not have broken my intention for the rest of
my life." It is written in the history that Hazrat Khabib (RA) recited two rakat
prayers before his death and this Sunnah of his has been established till today
and his reward will continue to be given to him till the Day of Resurrection.
About Hazrat Khabib (R.A.), Muawiya, the slave girl of Hajir, said that he was
imprisoned in her house. And during his imprisonment, he saw that Khabib
(R.A.) had a bunch of grapes as big as a man's head in his hand, from which he
was eating. He had never seen such grapes on earth before.
