A blast at a police check post near Tablighi congregation ground in Raiwind near Lahore claimed a life and left at least 20 wounded on Wednesday.

Reportedly, nine policemen are among the wounded. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Operations Wing Dr Haider Ashraf said that police were the target of the terror attack.

An Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and a Station House Officer (SHO) are among the nine police wounded in the extremist attack.

The injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) in Raiwind.

Police reported that a search operation was launched in the area after it was closed for all kinds of traffic.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Umar Farooq said in an exclusive talk with Dunya News that nature of the blast was yet to be identified however, a motorcycle was used for the attack.
