Translation of Dr. Shams Jilani “Roshni Hira Say”
Burial of the deceased and martyrs of Battle of Badr and return to
Medina
Section: 152
During previous section, we concluded our article at this point when Hazrat
Zaid bin Harith (RA) was asking some questions from Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH). He asked, O father if we had won over the disbelievers, he said, "Yes,
my son, by the grace of God." Hearing this, all the faces opened with joy and
the air echoed with the slogan Takbeer, and all the heads prostate to offer
thanks to their Almighty Allah.
Return from the Badr: The Holy Prophet (PBUH) left Badr for Madinah in
such a way that seventy prisoners with him, including some of his chiefs, Uqba
bin Abi Muhiyt and Al- Nasr bin Al- Harith, etc. All the war booty was also with
them, & Hazrat Kaab bin Amru (RA) was assigned for its security as an official.
But Ibn Hisham (RA) has given his name differently. He said that his name was
Adi bin Al Laith Al Ghaba. When the Prophet (PBUH) departed from here and
left the valley of Al- Safra, he stayed on a mound called Seer. And here he
decreed the distribution of booty equally. Then he further moved from here
and when he reached the place of Roha, the followers of Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH) had arrived there to welcome this great conqueror. And they
congratulated the Prophet ﷺ and the Companions, then Salama (RA) bin
Salama said, "What are you congratulating us about?" By name of Almighty
Allah, we were facing bald old men, their knees were tied like sacrificial
camels. We sacrificed them. Upon this, the Prophet ﷺ smiled and said: O Ibn
Umm, they were the leader of the group. According to Ibn Ishaq (RA), one of
the companion whose name was Abu Hind (RA) & he was free slave of
Farooda bin Umruh.
He brought with him to the Holy Prophet ﷺ a small bag a dessert that was
made up of cheese by mixing ghee and dates. This Abu Hind could not
participate in the Battle of Badr for some reason. Apart from that, he
participated in all the battles with the Holy Prophet. One of his characteristics
was that he was an expert in the art of setting stones and used to set or make
stones for Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). For them, the Holy Prophet said
that Abu Hind (RA) is from the Ansar and you should marry him and the
companions obeyed the order. Then the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) quickly left for
Madinah in the presence of his followers and this is the second time in the
history of the arrival of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) to Madinah that he saw
people climbing on the roofs and welcoming the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). While
the prisoners reached Medina on the second day.
