Strict security in place for 11th general elections


Strict security measures have been taken all across the country as millions of people are flocking to polling stations to cast their vote in Pakistan’s 11th general elections.

Pakistan Army has deployed troops across the country in respective areas of responsibility to provide mandated assistance to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for holding free, fair and transparent Elections 2018.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the troops would coordinate with other law enforcement agencies and local administration for ensuring safe and secure environment on the polling day.

The military has stationed over 370,000 personnel across Pakistan to ensure security for the election, bolstered by an additional 450,000 police. As many as 750,000 polling staff will perform duty on the election day.

The Commission has appealed the nation to come out on the polling day and exercise their legitimate right to vote for strengthening the democracy.
