Section 194
Invasion of Sawiq, marriage with Hazrat Zainab & other incidents of
Hijra
We had heard about the last battle of the 04 th year of Hijri. In which there was
no war, but the Muslims were financially supported by Allah through trade.
The incident was like that if you recall that Abu Sufiyan gave it to Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) during the occasion of the battle. He said, that I will come
to fight again in the field of Badr next year and on that day it will be decided
who is right and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) accepted this invitation on the trust
of Allah. Therefore, after coming back from the Battle of Al-Raqqa, the Holy
Prophet (PBUH) stayed until Shawwal and then went directly to the Battle of
Badr with the intention of the Battle of Badr. On this occasion, he appointed
Hazrat Abdullah (R.A.) bin Abi Sulul as the deputy of Madinah. Here this
matter is not without interest and which is also an argument for the truth of
Islam that if on one hand Abu Salul was always confused in Islam, on the other
hand his son Hazrat Abdullah (RA) was a staunch Muslim and was considered
as pious among the companions. This is the religion of the one whom God
blesses. On the other hand, Abu Sufyan left Makkah, but according to some
traditions he came to Majna and according to others, he came up to Asqan and
camped there for a few days, but did not have the courage to move forward.
Therefore, after eight days of luxury and eating desserts, he decided to run
away from the field one day by gathering and addressing the Quraish and
presented the excuse that, O people of Quraish, you know that we irrigate our
gardens in this month, and take care of trees, and yes, we also drink milk till it
quench our thirst during this month. Apart from this, he also said that this
month is not good for us in terms of war, so let's go back. But other historians
have used his words differently that he said that this year we are suffering
from famine and our animals are dying of hunger, so it is better that we go
back this year and come and fight next year while we remain in state of
happiness.
If this address is combined with the fact that the name of this campaign was
Ghazwa Suwiq, then his second statement seems closer to the correct one,
which shows that they were surrounded by famine that year as a divine
punishment. And the hearts were weak. It often happens that when people
are in trouble, they remember God.
