The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recommended placing the name of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan on the Exit Control List (ECL).
In a letter sent to the interior ministry, the anti-graft body has contended that an investigation is underway against Khan in an asset beyond known sources of income case and the offshore companies scandal requesting that his name be placed on the ECL.
Sources say, a letter has been sent to the interior ministry after approval of the NAB chairman.
On February 6, NAB Lahore arrested Aleem Khan, who at the time was serving as the Punjab local government minister. He tendered his resignation after his arrest.
According to sources, NAB had posed 18 questions to Aleem Khan regarding his assets and offshore companies, however, he could only answer three questions.
The anti-graft watchdog director-general Lahore had said the PTI leader was taken into custody after he failed to give satisfactory answers to the questions. An accountability court in Lahore has extended Aleem Khan’s physical till April 30.
NAB has been interrogating Khan regarding offshore companies including R&R International, FZC and ANA.
