Translation of Dr. Shams Jilani “Roshni Hira Say”
Section: 130
The arrival of the Qureysh in the field of Badr
During last section we reached up to the point that two slaves of Abu Sufiyan
were caught close to the spring of Badr. They were brought in the front of the
Prophet (PBUH). They informed about the movement of Qureysh & their exact
location. But they were not sure about the exact numbers. The Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) interrogated about the number of the camels that were
slayed every day in the cam. In which they responded that approximately ten
camels were slayed every day in the camp of Qureysh that gave rough
estimate of around thousand soldiers in their camp. Then Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH) asked about the prominent people from the Qureysh who came for
the expedition. They said that Utbah bin Rabi'ah, Shaiba bin Rabi'ah, Abu al-
Bakhtri bin Hisham, Hakeem bin Hizam, Nawfal bin Khwalid, Al Harith bin
Aamir bin Nawfal, Taeema bin Adi Bin Nawfal, Zamaa bin al-Aswad, Abu Jahal
bin Hisham, Umayyah bin Khalaf, two sons of Hajaj, Nabeayya & Mubayya,
Suhail bin Amru, & Amr bin Abdu  Wud .

In the meantime, Hazrat Basbas bin Amr (RA) and Hazrat Adiyy Bin Abi Al
Zaghba (RA) had come to the city and informed the Prophet that the caravan
was about to arrive, but the Prophet did not make any preparations to attack
it and did not attack it. In this regard, Ibn Ishaq (RA) says that two of the
Companions of the Prophet went to Badr on their own. And there they saw
that two girls were fighting among themselves on something. One of them said
that in one or two days, the caravan will arrive in a couple of days, so don't
worry, I will pay off your debt by working hard. After listening to their words,
these two companions came to the Holy Prophet's service and recited the full
incident. Meanwhile, on the other side, Abu Sufyan sent first Majdi on the well
(Water spring), and then he himself arrived. And he asked Majdi if he saw
anyone here and he said yes I saw two men carrying water on camels. . Apart
from this, I did not see anyone else. Abu Sufiyan came to the place where the
camels were sitting. He inspected the fecal excretions of the camels that were
lying there, and inside the fecal content, there were kernels of the dates in
them. After seeing that date kernels, he said, I swear in the name of God, this is
camel fodder from Yathrib. And then he quickly reached to his caravan. He
hits on the face of the camel & hastily moved his caravan in the other
direction. Abu Sufiyan moved his caravan towards the coastal route. And he
left Badr on the left side. And he passed this information to Abu Jahl. He

further instructed that you came to secure the caravan, men & property. But
now our Gods (Laat & Uzza) had secured the caravan. So there is no need for
further engagements. But Abu Jahl did not agree and said, I swear in the name
of my God, we will not go back until we reach Badr and celebrate. We will stay
there for three days, we will feed the animals, eat and feed and drink wine, we
will watch the dance and in this way our superiority will be established in
Arabia.
