My Grand father Mustafa Ali Hamadani a national figure of Pakistan who has the honour to announce the birth of Pakistan on 14th August 1947 from Radio Pakistan Lahore.

I wrote these feelings few years back on his death anniversary and these lines will remain fresh always.

On the death anniversary of my Grandfather, 21st April

As we go through our lives reaching for our own versions of success the golden thread for most is the heritage they can call their own.

We have the honour of such greatness in our own legacy within our family tree. Although I never had the honour of meeting my Grandfather, Mustafa Ali Hamadani – such is the legacy he has left that without meeting him we all feel like we know him and we associate ourselves with him with the upmost pride.

His Legacy is not limited to his nearest and dearest but the history books continue to proudly bear his name, ensuring its part of our hearts always.

My Dada who for the world announced the birth of Pakistan, whose voice rings loud every year across the country – it is a privilege to be his grand daughter

But beyond what the world knows, my experience is of growing up with his stories – the man who was disciplined knowing the value of time and punctuality, a man who was humble and when he walked into a room his presence created respect. A man who always told right from wrong, lived on his core value of honesty and loyalty. It is with these stories we have grown up. It is with these stories we pass down the same values to our children. So even though we never met him a part of him passes down to his great grandchildren.

The world wont see people like him, they were a special kind of person for a moment in time – he was years ahead of his generation with values of equality the world is trying to fix today.

My heart will always be flled with joy, pride and honour to part of a family that holds such greatness at its core. We pray and hope we continue these with our generations to come
