Translation of Dr. Shams Jilani “Roshni Hira Say” (The migration of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH to Madinah) by Dr. Rehan Asad
Chapter (83)
During last section we discussed that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) assigned Hazrat Ali (RA) at Makkah for returning the belongings of infidel’s kept with him as Amanah. He slept on the bed of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Even he later shared that this one of the most peaceful & sound sleep I had ever experienced in my life. This was the obedience of Hazrat Ali (RA) who even didn’t ask a single question in response of the task assigned to him. This was the patience & belief of Hazrat Ali (RA) that’s why; he was selected as the successor of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the terms of knowledge.
infedils at Makkah were planning to attack Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They planned to select one member from each tribe & decide to make a surprise attack during the dark hours of night. Fourteen hundred years has been passed but he is considered as the master of all Awliya. Most of the golden chains of spiritual paths in Sufism finally passed to Hazrat Ali (RA). The narratives continued like this, that during any interval of dark night Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) left Makkah leaving behind Hazrat Ali (RA) on his bed. While he (PBUH) was leaving, the following verse of Surah Yasin was on his lips. The Urdu translation goes as follows, “I swear by the name of the Holy Quran, the words of wisdom that has been send by Almighty Allah who is ruler of entire universe”. Then Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited this verse, “We had created the unseen boundaries behind them & put the curtains in the front of their eyes, so they will not able to visualize”. Ibn Ishaaq (RA) further added to this, that he listened from Yazid Bin Ziyad & he listened from Mohammad Bin Kaab that before Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came outside his home, Abu Jahal bin Hasham gathered a huge crowd. And then he started to incite them by giving a hate speech against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) & his message of Islam. Some of the words from the speech of Abu Jahal we are citing here, they were as follows, Muhammad (PBUH) claimed that if you will follow his religion then all the regions of Arab & non-Arab world will come under your control. When you will leave this world, there will be gardens for you much better than the gardens of Jordan. If you didn’t follow this path then your killing will be permissible & then you will be put in the fire of hell after death. At this moment Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came out & replied, yes I said like this & you will also be one of them who will be put in the fire of hell. Then He (PBUH) put the earth with approximate amount of fist. Then Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) put this on their heads. Almighty Allah has taken away all of the power of enemies. They were standing & in the front of them Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was leaving. They were even not able to hold the blessed hand of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he was putting the mud on their heads. And this act of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was mentioned in holy Quran by Almighty Allah as his act. As it was stated that I was not him but my hand that putting mud/pebbles on their heads. Then this incident has been again cited in the verse of Surah Anfal in Holy Quran.
