People in Rafah are facing drastic humanitarian conditions with an extreme shortage of food and drinkable water, Al Jazeera reported Sunday.
Rafah is considered the “safe zone” where two-thirds of Gaza’s population has been taking refuge.
Some people are living in makeshift shelters while others are living in the open. They are struggling to have medical treatment with hospitals being overwhelmed.
There is ongoing medical pressure on these facilities due to the wide-scale attacks that have been carried out in the south, injuries arriving from Khan Younis to Rafah and the increasing number of evacuees in this very densely populated area,” said the publication.
Palestinians are also suffering from acute food insecurity in light of the very limited amount of humanitarian supplies being delivered into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah Crossing due to Israeli restrictions.
