Prime Minister Imran Khan will embark on a two-day official visit to Iran on Sunday (today).
During his visit, the premier will hold a one-on-one meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, sources told Hum News. The two leaders will explore ways to further strengthen bilateral ties in diverse fields.
Negotiations will also be held on a delegation-level during the crucial visit, sources said.
Khan will also meet Iranian Supreme leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei.
According to sources, the premier will first go to Quetta where he will inaugurate a housing scheme before travelling to Iran along with a delegation including Special Assistant to Prime Minister Zulfiqar Bukhari.
The visit comes a day after Pakistan strongly protested with Iran over its “inaction against terror groups” that suspected to be behind the Ormara attack that left 14 dead including two security men.
The Iranian government will host a dinner for the prime minister and his delegation on Sunday.
The premier and his delegation will be received at Tehran airport by Communications and Urban Development Minister Muhammad Islam.
According to the schedule, the prime minister will be presented with a guard of honour in Tehran on April 22 before the two sides begin bilateral talks at the delegation level.
The prime minister will also hold a meeting with Irani businessmen and traders, the sources said.
