Addressing a trade and investment conference in Beijing, the premier said that since China has made great strides in the field of science and technology and in the agriculture sector, it could extend help to Pakistan to boost its agricultural productivity and make progress in science and technology.

He said that Pakistan was going to set up a special science and technology university with eight specialized departments and Chinese help would be highly welcome in this regard.

The premier also said that Pakistan would also welcome Chinese help in seed and agriculture development, which is the backbone of Pakistan, and it will lead to an increase in the productivity manifold.

The prime minister while asking Chinese businessmen to invest in Pakistan said that “his government will provide full security to them”. He said that the Road and Belt initiative was going to be much better than what had been imagined by the Chinses leadership when it was initiated. “It has transformed into a strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and encompasses more areas of cooperation and other countries come forward and join the project,” he said.

“This one road would connect so many countries. We want the Chinse industry to relocate in Pakistan. I would like to invite Chinses people here to invite to invest in Pakistan. We would just like you to invest in Pakistan’s special economic zones, like in Vietnam and in Bangladesh, where Chinses businesses have been relocated. My government’s job will be to remove impediments in your way and make it easier for you to invest. Rest assured, my government will be giving you every possible help. The office of the PM has already special unit to deal with investors,” PM Khan said.

“We will also provide you concessions on taxes and we will make everything easier for you to invest and use Pakistan as a base to export things from Pakistan,” he said.

“This is the area which could involve more countries and I feel other countries join this because this the future and through cooperation and connectivity, so many subjects will be taken in consideration,” he said urging world countries to take into account the adverse effects of climate change.

He said that several countries were facing the risk unless and until the world takes measures to mitigate the effects of climate change. He said that Pakistan has taken revolutionary steps to mitigate the effects of climate change by planting around one billion trees in one province.
