The Islamabad High Court on Monday dismissed a petition against the prime minister’s advisor on finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, which sought to bar him from presenting the federal budget in the National Assembly.

The petition was heard by Chief Justice IHC Justice Athar Minallah.

During the hearing, the petitioner stated that the financial advisor could not present the budget, to which Justice Minallah asked where it was written in the law who could or could not present the budget.

The Chief Justice said such petitions with no ground should not be submitted in the court. He termed the petition invalid and dismissed it.
