Opposition parties have rejected the increase in the budget of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and submitted a motion in National Assembly to the cut the budget of accountability watch dog.

According to Dunya News sources, fifteen budget reduction motions were submitted in the assembly by opposition. The motions stated that NAB’s budget is a burden on economy so it should not be increased, adding that rather its operational and development budget should be demolished.

The motion further stated that NAB has failed to provide accountability without any discrimination. It said an addition of Rs 3 billion in its budget is tantamount to favoring the institution.

The reduction motions were submitted by Rana Sanaullah, Nafeesa Shah, Yousag talpur, Zahid Akram Durrani, Moulana Akbar Chitrali, Shazia Muree, Mehreen Bhutto, Rana Shamim and Murtaza Javed Abbasi.
