At least 12 Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers have been arrested by the security personnel outside the accountability court ahead of party vice president Maryam Nawaz’s appearance in connection with fake trust deed in Avenfield reference today (Friday).
The detained PML-N workers, including two women, were chanting slogans against the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and judicial system. However, strict security measures have been ensured to avoid any untoward situation.
It is to be mentioned here that the court, while taking action on the plea submitted by National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Khan Abbasi, had issued notice to Maryam Nawaz to appear on July 19. The plaintiff claimed that Maryam Nawaz had produced a bogus trust deed before the court in order to conceal the London properties.
NAB application read, “The above conclusion [that the document used was bogus] by this court was reached after evaluating the entire evidence; hence, it is apparent that the respondent has maliciously fabricated and tendered false evidence/information with the intention to mislead the due process of law and trial and hamper the administration of justice.”
