Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday while criticising PTI lawmakers, said that Imran Khan’s ‘gang’ on purpose disrupted the session by surrounding Speaker’s dais.
Talking to the media after Parliament’s session in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members also participated, he said that The PTI lawmakers tore apart not only the copies of the agenda but also the constitution as well.
“We tried to speak on our turn, but Imran Khan’s gang on purpose disrupted the session by surrounding Speaker’s dais”, Rafique said.
He said that whatever happened was sad and the entire nation saw it.
Rafique said that government is ready to discuss Panama Papers issue in the Parliament if demanded by the opposition.
“There is no contradiction in the statement given by the Prime Minister on the floor of the House and that given in the Supreme Court”, he said
He said the government is also ready to discuss the issue in the speaker’s chamber. He said that Prime Minister’s name is not in the Panama Papers.
Federal Minister said that said members of the treasury benches were not allowed to answer the questions raised by the opposition leader in the House today due to the derogatory behaviour of PTI members.
Earlier during the day, PTI members of the National Assembly disrupted an already heated session of the House, making it impossible for the proceedings to continue and forcing the NA speaker to adjourn the session until Thursday evening.
A stormy NA session was in progress with lawmakers from treasury and opposition delivering fiery speeches on the Panama Papers leaks, which has been haunting the Nawaz government for months now.
