Faiz Ahmed Faiz
Faiz Ahmad Faiz (Punjabi, Urdu: فیض احمد فیض ‎, born 13 February
1911 – 20 November 1984) MBE, NI, Lenin Peace Prize was an
influential left-wing intellectual, revolutionary poet, and one of
the most famous poets of Urdu. He also wrote poems in the Punjabi
language. A notable member of the Progressive Writers
Movement (PWM), Faiz was an avowed Marxist. Listed four
times for the Nobel Prize in poetry, he received the Lenin Peace
Prize by the Soviet Union in 1962. Despite being repeatedly
accused of atheism by the political and military establishment,
Faiz’s poetry suggested a more nuanced relationship with
religion in general and Islam in particular. He was, in fact,
greatly inspired by both secular poetry and South Asia’s Sufi
traditions. His famous ghazal Hum Dekhenge is an example of
how he fused these interests.

1- She came as if she’d been cordial forever
When overlooked;
ignored as if she knew never
***************

2–Besides allure are sorrows; that life provides
Comforts are more than love’s union provides
***************
3

3– What’s furthermore is left to see now
I’ve experienced being in love with you
***************

4–The heart is not hopeless,
it’s just a failure
Though murky and long night;
but only failure

5– Lost all worth and values in thy love
He’s going away gloomy, in thy love
**************
6–

6–The world has made me forget you
Trials of life draw me more than you
*************

7

7– Spring breeze filled with flowers fragrance
Come love; let the garden carry on its business
****************
8
8 We’ll continue to nurture pen and paper
Whatever heart bears, we’ll write on paper
****************
9–
9. Got a way to enjoy relation for a few days
Deplore to see god’s patience to stay
*************
10
10– While calculating tribulations during life
Remembered you today more than ever in life
***************
11–
11 No place fascinated Faiz on his way
Going away from his beloved’s home
**************
12–
12– Neither the flowers bloomed nor met beloved
What an out-of-the-way the spring has adhered
*************
13–
13–Why am I waiting as an optimistic runner?
On the way that doesn’t even go thy manor
***************
14–
14– Before your promises and confessions
I had various friends and connections!
**************
15–
15– When the agony of thy memory starts to sink
In some way, I remember you and think
