Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday rejected the government’s argument that Pakistan was going bankrupt because of the 18th Constitutional Amendment and the powers it vested from the centre to the provinces.
Addressing the national assembly, the PPP chairman said the provinces were going bankrupt because of the ruling party’s incompetence.
As the PPP leader continued to criticise the ruling party, the Speaker of the National Assembly expunged words from his speech.
When Bilawal Bhutto called the government Zaalim (merciless), it was expunged, when he reminded the august house that the ruling party had cursed the house before coming to power the word Laanat was expunged, when he addressed the ruling party members who kept trying to disrupt his speech he asked them when they were so stubborn and wouldn’t even allow constructive criticism; the word stubborn was also expunged.
He said the incumbent government had the worst tax collection record in the history of the country, adding that it wasn’t because of the 18th amendment that the country was going bankrupt but in fact it was because of the incompetence of the government.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan’s economic sovereignty has been violated by the ruling PTI. It is no longer a PTI government any more it is a PTIMF government he said adding that the IMF had installed their own Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan.
