Under the auspices of the literary and cultural organization “Gharonda” in Maryland, USA, a grand tribute ceremony was organized by Ms. Beena Goindi and Mr. Hamid Mahmood in honours of renowned broadcaster Ms. Meahpara Safdar’s autobiography “Mera Zamana Meri Kahani” (“My Era, My Story”).
Alongside prominent literary and journalistic figures from the state of Maryland, a large number of writers also participated from other states including Virginia, Chicago, and Texas. Distinguished guests such as Dr. Sarwat Zehra and Dr. Rizwan Ali from Richmond, Virginia; Riaz Niazi from Chicago; Mona Shehab, Noor Naghmi, Ali Shoaib Hassan, Dr. Arif Mehmood, Sajid Tarar, Ayesha Khan, Faiz Rehman, Khurram Shehzad, and Mian Irfan Yaqoob from Baltimore paid heartfelt tributes to Mahpara Safdar’s creative talents.
The event was presided over by Mr. Khalid Hameed. During the ceremony, Pakistan Press Association honoured Mahpara Safdar with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her literary and journalistic contributions. Literary Center Baltimore and other organizations also presented her with gifts.
At the end of the event, the author Meh Parah Safdar personally signed and gifted copies of her book to the attendees.
