Former finance minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member national assembly Asad Umar on Monday has been chairman National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance.
Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Syed Naveed Qamar proposed his name for the chairmanship. Members of the committee felicitates Asad Umar on being elected chairman.
Speaking on the occasion, the PTI leader lauded former committee chairman Faizullah for performing his duties well, adding that the committee’s performed better in his chairmanship.
It is pertinent here to mention that Asad Umar has replaced Faizullah for committee chairmanship.
Earlier, former FM replaced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Syed Basit Ahmed Sultan as the new member of the committee because PTI had to withdrew one of the committee’s members to accommodate him and he also took the reins of chairmanship from PTI MAN Faiz Ullah.
Prime Minister Imran Khan met former Finance Minister and PTI stalwart Asad Umar on May 7 to ponder over the matters related to his return and offered him to re-join the federal cabinet.
