Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif is expected to return to Pakistan on June 11, from London, his lawyer informed the accountability court on Tuesday.
During proceedings of the Ramazan Sugar Mills case and Ashiana Housing Scheme scandal, the presiding judge, Justice Jawad ul Hassan inquired from Sharif’s counsel Atta Tarrar when his client would return to Pakistan.
Tarrar who had earlier refused to give a date for his clients return stating that Sharif was undergoing tests in London and could not give a confirmed date for his return to Pakistan, informed the bench that his client would returning in fifteen days on June 11th.
Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shehbaz appeared before the court.
The National Accountability Bureau has accused the father-son duo of alleged involvement in laundering money and amassing assets beyond their known sources of income.
After his appearance, Hamza Shehbaz was allowed to leave. Interestingly, as he was leaving the courtroom, Justice Jawad ul Hassan summoned him to the dais and instructed Hamza Shehbaz not to take selfies in the courtroom and to ensure that he adhered to the decorum of the chambers. The Punjab opposition leader assured the bench that he will abide by the rules and will not take selfies in court again.
