Ghazwa Fara (The battle of Fara) and the wickedness of Bani Qaynuqa
Section 163

After returning from there, Holy Prophet (PBUH) spent more or less the entire
month of first Rabiulawwala in Madinah, then after that some news started
coming from the polytheists. It was known that after the defeat of Badr, they
did not want to give the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) a single moment of
anger and were burning with the fire of revenge. Therefore, the Holy Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) again set out for his journey and this time, according to
the words of Ibn Hisham (RA) and Ibn Ishaq (RA), he (Peace be Upon him)
appointed Abdullah bin Umm Maktoum as his deputy in Madinah. According
to the traditions of both of them, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) went to
Apanjaran, which was a mining area in the valley; located in the Hijaz region.
This site was located near the village known as Fara but there is dispute
among the historian regarding the location of this village. One village with the
same name was located near Madinah Munawarah and the other village with
same name is a green place according to historians which will be about one

hundred miles from Madinah and it is the most probable hypothesis. In any
case, there was no contest there and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stayed
till Jumadi al-Awwal and then came back to Medina. God knows.

Incident of Bani Qaynuqa: In the absence of the Holy Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH), Bani Qaynuqa started to become bolder, as if their record was not
good already. Ibn Isahaq (may Allah be pleased with him) says that these were
the people who first violated the agreement that the Holy Prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him) had made between the people of Madinah and the Jews,
rather they worked for the Quraysh behind the scenes. And kept spying for
them and helping them. Even on the day of Badr, these people did not help in
the war, which was obligatory on him due to being an ally. But Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) ignored their acts and they considered it as the weakness
of the Muslims and became a lion. Meanwhile, this incident happened and it is
like that an Arab woman who was sitting in a Jewish goldsmith's shop to take
a breath and was completely cladded in viel, she was not a stray woman from
anywhere. But the Jews were looking for an opportunity to rebel. Therefore,
she became the target of their pastime pleasure. And they pulled her clothes in
such a way that she became naked from the back. On this, an Arab intervened

and straightened his clothes, and also warned the Jews not to make a
spectacle of him.
